Bolton ready to welcome back Muamba
Bolton Wanderers are making preparations for Fabrice Muamba to attend his first match since he suffered a cardiac arrest at White Hart Lane on March 17 when his heart stopped for 78 minutes.
Muamba has since made an extraordinary recovery and is now hoping to attend next Tuesday’s match at the Reebok — somewhat appropriately also against T*ttenham H*tspur in a rearranged Premier League match.
The presence of the hugely-popular 24-year-old midfielder will provide a lift to Bolton as they desperately try and avoid relegation.
It is not a certainty that he will attend but it is hoped he will be able to do so.
Whether Muamba, who was released from hospital a little over a week ago with a device inserted into his chest, is able to play football again remains in the balance. Medical staff consider it highly unlikely given that he is still suffering badly from memory loss as a result of the cardiac arrest. But then he has defied medical science once already with his recovery so far.
