Whilst some others will throw in comments on ‘history’, one could respond with various options, such as: ‘we’re making it’, ‘we’re enjoying it all now’, ‘we’re current’, ‘we’re there watching it’, ‘we are and have been present at it all when we can enjoy it the most’, and ‘we don’t give a fkk about 30 or 40 years ago’.
After all, whilst it can be a justified claim that one’s team used to be big shots and win titles etc, who cares if you weren’t around to be there week in, week out enjoying it all? So fkn what about it all those years ago?! Now is now.
One can feel for the arse fans over the last 7 years, as those who post on here are clutching at straws with arguments. The ‘invincible year’ is now getting banted around. The fact that they didn’t even get as many points as Chelsea did in ’05 when we lost just that one game all season (at man city – a penalty awarded for a foul outside the box and we controlled the game from start to finish) seems to be ignored, for example. Whereas Pires cheated to save the day against portsmouth when arse were losing, let us not forget. That’s how to make sure you win – the arse way. Dive & get a penalty at the end when losing.
As for the scousers, we can apply the second paragraph above to that lot.
Yes, the last 15 years of so have been wonderful, with the 2nd and most recent half of that period being thoroughly enjoyable. Living the dream. Being there, whilst history is being made. Love it.
