Di Matteo handed deal – Report
Roberto Di Matteo will be offered a one-year deal to become Chelsea manager on the back of their Champions League win, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror on Saturday claimed that Di Matteo will be given the chance to prove himself as Chelsea boss after guiding the Blues to success in both the FA Cup final at Wembley and Champions League final in Munich last month.
It is also suggested that, due to the fact that owner Roman Abramovich is in the middle of a spending spree at Stamford Bridge having already captured Edin Hazard and Marko Marin, he is reluctant to offer the Italian more than a one-year contract.
However, should Di Matteo sign a one-year deal, it would open the door for Pep Guardiola to take over the reins should the former Blues midfielder fail to impress next season.
