Sturridge is up for sale. Yet we are short of firepower. Lukaku will be loaned out – he’s two seasons short of top form (if he ever gets it). Kakuta is still on the books but loaned out.
Essien and Malouda are also for sale, as is the returning from loan Benayoun. Kalou was let go, with Marin taking his number 21. Torres is still missing chances, I read. Oscar hasn’t got a squad number yet, but is also an attacking midfielder like Hazard. Lamps doesn’t look like he’ll be starting each week.
Not sure what happened to the potential Hulk transfer. If that still isn’t ticking along then I foresee a panic striker buy.
We can only play 4-3-3, so Torres isn’t going to be happy if ‘a Hulk’ arrives. These pre-season friendlies in the US have just shown he still isn’t on his once prolific form. We have the people to provide service (Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Ramires, Lamps). We shall wait & see. I would like to keep Sturridge. If he can get his head out of his arse and stop shooting on sight each time he gets the ball.
