Chelsea outcast Yossi Benayoun has emerged as a target for Olympiacos, according to reports in the Greek press.
Benayoun, 32, has struggled for a first-team place since moving from Liverpool in the summer of 2010; he has managed just one Premier League start for the Blues and spent the majority of the last campaign on loan at Arsenal.
The arrivals of Eden Hazard, who has enjoyed a sparkling start to his Chelsea career, and Brazilian Oscar have pushed Benayoun further down Roberto Di Matteo’s attacking midfield pecking order.
But Olympiacos are prepared to offer him an escape route out of Stamford Bridge.
The Greek champions, who have won their league in seven of the last eight seasons, want Benayoun after losing Kevin Mirallas, who joined Everton last week.
Manager Leonardo Jardim sees Benayoun as a perfect fit for his side and he will push hard to secure the Israel international before the close of the transfer window.
