Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle

26th August 2012 Leave a Comment

Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle

I’ll take the result, and it was a fairly decent performance too. Hazard had another good game, and Torres appears to be very confident – at last. Again he could’ve had a hatful, but the goal he did take was executed to perfection; an 18-yard quick reaction punt with the outside of his right foot from a swift back-heel from Hazard on the edge of the box. Good stuff. Torres won a penalty before that, which was a pen. I’ve now seen it on MotD and it was a pen. Torres was wrongly booked for diving afterwards on another challenge, which has shown to be an unfair booking as he was caught with Coleccini’s trailing leg when he would’ve been free on goal.

Meireles played the game from kick off, which was a surprise. He went down injured at one stage and I was hoping he’d done a cruciate. I don’t like him. Sorry. Mikel had another decent game, as did Mata for the whole.

I have now gone of Newcastle manager, Pardew, completely. His head has been up his arse for a while now, and alot is due to the front two he has – paired up with some fortune. His team is not that good, but he is living off the 2-0 win at the Bridge last May like it was a walk in the park, even with that fluke hoof goal from Cissé. They punched above their weight last season, finishing 5th, and I can see them not bettering that this season. Listening to Pardew after the game on MotD I think he was watching a different game to the one I was at. They weren’t at the races. They did have a couple of chances, gifted chances, I will add, but the whole game was controlled by Chelsea. We played well again. And Pardew can fkk off.

It was a nice day out – took two of the kids. Few beers before the game, another swift one at half time, then a train home and after being picked up at the station and whisked off to my mate’s restaurant for some decent Asian Fusion grub. And a couple more pints. All in all, a nice day.

Monaco next weekend – Supercup. I’ll enjoy that – 3 days in the south of France.
