Copied from elsewhere:
FA Report on JT is out – explaining why he got a 4-match ban and a £220k fine.
I’d say JT has a decent case for appeal. 60-pages explaining why they came to their conclusion. But what exactly did anyone expect the FA to say?
The admission of how they came to their own conclusion should give JT’s lawyers plenty of grounds for an appeal. Firstly, they have admitted that they was no corroborative evidence (in fact, little or no substantive evidence at all) so that the panel decided, in the absence of any evidence, to draw its own conclusions. They actually ‘sort of’ justify their verdict, but only by stating that JT had been insulted and taunted by Ferdinand so that he was likely to have retaliated. Laughable. Then add on that JT was found not guilty in a Court of Law, and that the FA had already stripped him of his England Captaincy, thereby branding him guilty before trial!
Back to the report – and just in case anyone doesn’t know how they ended their own conclusion, they went on to say that, “We don’t think that John Terry is a racist and in fact there is considerable testimony that he isn’t.”
The lawyers must be enjoying this.
