The scousers were shit. But we all new what would happen, and it did. The worst Liverpool team to set foot into The Bridge in my whole lifetime mug us off for a point. We probably treated them with contempt as they were so bad -0 and it backfired big style.
The scousers were atrocious. So, so poor. Gerrard? He looks finished. The only player they’ve got is Suarez. And they must be thanking the Lord for him.
2nd gear seemed to be the way to play against a very poor opposition, with chance after chance missed – but without care, it seemed like.
It was inevitable – a rare run up our end sees their sub stick in a run of the mill corner that arrived to a completely unmarked Suarez, who nodded to an empty net. Shit defending.
And Chelsea? – only have ourselves to blame. We have no striker and didn’t feel necessary to attack like they were proper rivals. Some sitters were missed. Oscar on 5 mins could’ve opened the flood gates as their heads would’ve gone down. But the longer we fkkd around the more they thought they could nick something. We could’ve put it out of sight by 25minutes. But we didn’t – poor finishing, and a number of easy chances missed. It served us right.
A basically diabolical Liverpool team takes home a point. We need to look at ourselves. And Torres is a waste of a position. He has now lost the crowd. He’s been supported so well, considering his poor form to date, but now it looks like he’s been given his long and many chances.
And as for the scousers – they have big problems. It might sound like throwing stones, but we’re just missing a striker and some discipline at the back. The scousers were all over the place. They were crap. OK, I’m not sure what that says about us as we couldn’t finish them off – but they have some serious rebuilding to do.
Moments in the game to mention include gerrard feigning injury after giving away a penalty (not given, mr webb) and managing to get the game stopped so we didn’t score, and johnson elbowing oscar in the face and managing to stay on the park (only a yellow, mr webb). I haven’t seen any replays as yet – but Terry looked like he’d been more than caught by the Uruguayan rabbit – and got away with it (no action, mr webb). Although I haven’t seen that one again as yet, either, and it may have been a bad fall.
But no sour grapes – if you don’t take your chances you won’t win. And we didn’t take out chances and we didn’t win.
