Demba Ba heading to Chelsea from Newcastle as £70,000-a-week deal breaks transfer deadlock
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that Demba Ba’s release clause has worked out brilliantly for the striker as he is on the verge of completing a £7 million move to Chelsea.
Ba, who will have a medical on Thursday morning, was given permission to talk to Chelsea after Newcastle United received the offer that activated the clause in his contract. Pardew insisted the forward leaves with his best wishes.
The Senegal international is believed to have agreed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge worth about £70,000 a week. He could make his debut against Southampton at the weekend.
