The scouser game was enjoyable. We deserved to win that. But having to listen to all the crap about it since shows how bias the media is. Anyone who says otherwise needs to look at themselves. Haven’t heard one mention of the cannibal’s 8th minute added time goal in 6 minutes of injury time to earn them a draw last season yet, and that after the cannibal incident and pathetic feigned hurt leg afterwards. We hear that what could be an indirect free kick for trying to shield the ball should be a penalty. The theatrical dive by the cannibal when he could have just held his arms up as he was blocked probably swayed the manc Webb to wave away any indirect free kick claims. The very same tactic is done at the goal line a dozen times in each game and nothing is given. But that’s by the by.
Eto’o’s tackle in the 2nd minute didn’t look bad from where I was. When seeing on tv it shows he missed the ball and the top studs of his boot went down his shin. After the pathetic rolling around he got up and played 90 minutes. What a shame if the game had been ruined by such an early incident. Although the scousers needed all the help they could get with just a one-man team.
Mind you, we were lucky that after Henderson was given all the time he needed to float that chip that they didn’t score with the header. This is typical of us at the moment. Seem to sit back and hold a one-goal lead, or just not try as much in general in 2nd half.
But the first half performance, after that early free goal we gave them, was a decent display as you’ll see anywhere. I bet even the scouser-bias media agree with that…?
Anyway, we’ll see how we get on from now. I’ll take 3rd right now, but 4th will do. City will win it. I look at the 3 games we lost and remind myself we should have been 3 or 4 goals up at half time. It’s the story of the season so far. The first half we just can’t take chances. Unlike that cannibal, who scores for fun against the lower teams. He does fkk all against the top teams, though. Mark him well and it almost nullifies their attack.
