The money thrown at the players is so obscene. We all agree. It has caused this backlash. People are voting with their feet. For a regular seat at the Bridge it is £890-£1,200 for normal seat – covering just 19 home games. They are more expensive seats as well, I have just mentioned the usual, regular seats. Stick on the ECL and other cup games. The average guy can’t afford to take his kids. When we were kids we just turned up and paid our 50p or whatever it was to get in. We stood where we liked. This is far gone, as you have players earning £220k a week (yaya Toure). That is almost a million quid a month. It is a joke. Sometimes I wish it wasn’t in my blood. I’m not joking. I’d find it difficult to give up my season tkts. I’ve paid for a 3rd one for next season now as well (that front row seat I mentioned in an earlier post). I’ll always make use of it as it’s next to my mate I do the ECL away games with, so we can shuffle between my own two, the 3rd one and his one. But I did wonder if I can justify it all now. If it wasn’t for the whole pre-match meal and atmosphere amongst all that I question whether I’d make the effort to turn up just befopre ko and go straight home afterwards. The players don’t deserve the commitment. Look at what happened with the west ham end of season fracas the other night. Ba signing and autograph and decides he’s too tired, or whatever happened. Who the fkk are they?
There, that’s off my chest.
