If you study it all, including his complete history, I’d say he’s ‘got away with it’, really. And I don’t mean tax evasion (although that could also apply).
He had a good run of results, no doubt. But I recall a few being fairly fortuitous, and I bet if you went on to the shite thread and asked they’d be able to tell you that quite a few of the results in that winning run could’ve been different. Just a cynical thought, but when he had to really pull results out of the bag – he didn’t.
It was known that we were in the CL final for a few weeks before the game, and that it was possible we’d be in the final a couple of weeks before that. He had to get some results on the board to at least be in front of arse, or even extend to their previous gloating position of ‘mind the gap’ (which came back to throw egg on their face and humiliate them in a rather large way, I will add.
We ended up winning the CL (if you didn’t know) and they are now playing in that europa league, which no-one gives a fkk about. Well, no-one that is used to and expects the ECL every year gives a fkk about.
But maybe the Europa league is the level sp*rs should be punching at. Well, not maybe, it probably is the level they should be content with. No?
