Kolo Toure would welcome RVP
City defender salutes in-demand Arsenal striker
Kolo Toure believes Arsenal striker Robin van Persie could help Manchester City challenge for UEFA Champions League glory.
Van Persie had been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium even before Wednesday’s announcement that he would not be extending his Gunners contract which has just 12 months left to run.
That speculation has been ramped up with the Holland international, who scored 30 Premier League goals last season, admitting a desire to challenge for major silverware contributed to his decision.
And centre-back Toure, who played alongside Van Persie before leaving North London for City in 2009, is well aware of what the striker can bring to a team.
