Ok a poor result in Ukraine…

24th October 2012 Leave a Comment

Ok a poor result in Ukraine. We lost a game, FFS. Yet here we have goners et al gloating on the bulletin boards. If their reckoning that that is some sort of confirmation we’re shit and don’t deserve to be European Champions, then what do we make of arse’s loss at norwich on Saturday?

If we don’t get out of the group, we can look back at the two-goal lead thrown away against Juve, and then the silly chances wasted last night that on other days would have gone in, and console ourselves with the very fact that in 10 or 11 years of Chelsea’s Champions’ League involvement it will be the very FIRST time the club hasn’t got out the group stages.

How do arse (or the mancs) compare to that?

The right team won last night – a team that has 9 Brazilians on its books. A club that has more money than it should do – they fit right into the constant financial doping argument. And on the night they beat Chelsea by a goal. Up pop arse fans and manc fans alike, gloating their heads off as though arse have been some sort of force on the European circuit over the years.

Same as the mancs – have they been a force in Europe? No, they haven’t. They won the CL twice – once against a far better Bayern Munich team that did everything except score 3 or 4 goals. 2 late goals on 88 and 90mins by super sub ole-gunner saw the mancs steal that one. George Best had already left the stadium at 1-0 down and didn’t see the goals! The we have the penalty win in Moscow. It was out of their hands when Terry stepped up. Had that gone in then Chelsea would have won. It didn’t, and the rest is history. But are those two wins, which were both rather fortuitous to say the least, make them a European force. No. And arse’s single final appearance hardly promnotes them to the top.

If we don’t get out the group stage then it will be the first time that’s happened. We have constantly performed, year in, year out.

Let’s see if we can do the business over the next 6 weeks.

Up the Chels’.
